Adam is a good friend of mine, so this may sound biased. But being completely new to buying a home and all that, this whole process was very overwhelming for me. It started with Adam getting a better estimate for me, compared to what my bank offered me. After that, he was with me step-by-step, patiently, helping me through the whole thing. He answered all my questions, was super prompt with communication, and was overall a great person to work with. He made this whole process smooth and was available to help pretty much 24/7! I worked with the team at Lake State Mortgage (specifically Adam Bergsma and Jessica Benites) for my recent home purchase and was very pleased with the overall experience. I had initially chosen a different mortgage lender and even gotten pre-approved with them. However, after my offer on the home was accepted that other lender informed me that they could not guarantee a closing within the time-frame that the seller was looking for so I needed to find another lender late in the process. My realtor recommended Lake State Mortgage and after speaking with Adam on the phone that day I felt comfortable that they would be able to successfully close the deal on time. Throughout that month leading up to the closing date the team at Lake State Mortgage provided me regular updates about what information and documents their underwriters needed from me and what to expect down the line and the deal ended up closing on time without issues as promised. Adam was even kind enough to come to the closing date with a congratulatory gift for me. Overall, the experience I had with Lake State Mortgage was personable, professional, and successful and I highly recommend them.
